Demi Lovato: "I Try To Create Positive Energy Everywhere I Go"

Demi Lovato is indeed moving forward with her life.
While the 18-year-old star has certainly dealt with more than her fair share of challenges lately, she's clearly coming back stronger than ever.
"As the world knows, I kind of went through a bunch this last year," Lovato said today while paying our very own  Ryan Seacrest a visit, referring to a recent stint in a treatment facility to deal with her bipolar and eating disorders.

In recalling the issues she faced, Lovato admitted that "it got to the point where I was lying to everyone, lying about eating and being happy...I became a little brat and I had so much growing up to do, and I never intentionally meant to be that way, but I just had so much going on in my head."
Thankfully, though, Lovato got the help that she needed and, as a result, has a much brighter outlook on life.
"I try to create positive energy everywhere I go," she said after Seacrest commented on her "big smile" and "the happiness" that surrounds her.
And Lovato's ability to work through it all is refective in the heartfelt lyrics of her new song, "Skyscraper."
"It's about rising above those issues," she pointed out. "That it's going to be OK. No matter how hard your rock bottom is, you can rise above it and you can come back."
While the song itself was released today, the video for the new single will actually be making its broadcast debut exclusively on E! News and E! Online on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Hollywood Records recording artist Demi Lovato will world premiere her highly anticipated “Skyscraper” music video exclusively on E! News and on E! Online on Wednesday, July 13 at 7PM ET/PT and 11:30 PM ET/PT, along with an exclusive interview with Ryan Seacrest. July 14 marks the VEVO premiere.
Produced by Toby Gad (Beyonce, Fergie, Kelly Clarkson), the emotionally resonant “Skyscraper” illustrates Lovato’s personal journey of overcoming challenges by staying strong and believing in herself. The music video for “Skyscraper” was shot by acclaimed director Mark Pellington (Pearl Jam, Michael Jackson, The Fray). This past weekend, Demi posted her single image and title on her social networking sites, instantly becoming a worldwide Twitter Trend drawing over 2 million impressions on Facebook within 24 hours.
The long-awaited release follows an important year for Demi Lovato. After confronting personal issues head on, Lovato made the proactive decision to seek treatment and regain focus on her music career. Additionally, Lovato is currently partnering with the JED Foundation and Seventeen magazine on the “Love is Louder Than the Pressure to Be Perfect” campaign, addressing the various pressures many young people face. She has also joined Seventeen as a contributing editor, submitting regular pieces advising readers to “stay strong” and sharing strategies for maintaining a positive outlook.
Lovato’s forthcoming album, to be released this fall, is the long-awaited follow-up to the # 1 debut of 2009’s Here We Go Again and the #2 debut of 2008’s Don’t Forget. She has performed to arena crowds across the world, been nominated for an ALMA award, won both People’s Choice and Teen Choice awards and appeared on Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, AmericanIdol and Dancing with the Stars.

Demi Lovato To Drop 'Skyscraper' Next Tuesday Song will debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

Demi Lovato is ready to launch her comeback. On Tuesday the singer will drop her highly anticipated new single, "Skyscraper." It will debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, and the singer will also call in to chat with Seacrest about the track.
This marks Lovato's first big release of any kind since leaving treatment earlier this year. And while little is known about the song, Lovato told MTV News last summer that she was planning on making more R&B-sounding music.
"I'm now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that's R&B," she said, revealing her dream of collaborating with Drake or Trey Songz. "I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song."
In a Seventeen magazine blog post, she wrote, "My first single is really special to me — to me it symbolizes my journey from the person I was to the happy healthy person I am today, and the fact that people are able to rise above anything, despite the odds."
Lovato revealed on Twitter that she has shot a video for the new track, but no word yet on when it will drop. Just this week, she tweeted that she had recorded a duet for her forthcoming album, but she didn't reveal with whom. In Seventeen she wrote that she wanted her new album to empower her fans.
"With my new album, I'm hoping to provide inspiration for girls everywhere who are going through the same issues I've faced," she said. "I think this will come through in a lot of the material."

First Review of Demi Lovato’s ‘Skyscraper’ Single

After revealing the cover artwork for her new single Skyscraper a couple days ago,Demi Lovato‘s song has been reviewed by Free Wired, who only had nice things to say about the single! The song is set to be released on July 19th on iTunes. Here’s what they had to say!
Co-written by Estonian “bubblegoth” singer, Kerli, and producer, Toby Gad (Selena Gomez “A Year Without Rain”, Fergie “Big Girls Don’t Cry”), “Skyscraper” seems like it was tailor made for Demi. With heartbreaking, yet optimistic lyrics placed over minimal yet emotionally effective production, the song seemed like the perfect opportunity for Lovato to emote, and emote, she certainly does.
“Skies are crying, I am watching,” she whispers in the first verse. “Catching teardrops in my hands.” Strangely befitting, she sounds vulnerable, almost broken, over a bare, piano-only backdrop. As the second verse resounds (“As the smoke clears, I awaken,”) she’s already regained most of her confidence and composure as the beat picks up, yet there’s still a hint of fragility in her voice, which diminishes as the song goes on. Until we reach the finale, that is; the final chorus.
The chorus in “Skyscraper” is arguably the best thing about the song. The creme de la creme, if you will. Heartbreaking yet optimistic, catchy yet powerful in substance, it stays with you for all the right reasons. “You can take everything I have, you can break everything I am, like I’m made of glass, like I’m made of paper,” she dares us. “Go on and try to bring me down, I will be rising from the ground,” she then proclaims. “Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper.” The final rendition, however, is all the more mesmerizing. Openly weeping by the end of the song, it gives Lovato the edge to transform from Disney princess into fully-fledged, true musician.
“Skyscraper” is a triumph for Demi Lovato in every sense; a triumphant return to the music industry, a triumphant return to prominence, and, above all, a triumphant emergence from the ashes.

Demi Lovato’s Website Gets Revamped

Demi Lovato’s comeback is coming around okay. She has just re-launched her official website, just in time for her new single. The website went offline for a while with no warning. But just as quickly as it went offline, it came back online with the new layout.
Demi’s website right now only shows her single’s artwork and links to her social media. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will see the website roll out more. However, in the mean time it seems to be a simple place holder for something bigger. Right now we have not heard of any plans or what features Demi’s site may have, but it should go back to being much like it was prior to her new single.
I do wish they posted a target date or had a news feature, right now her site seems way to dead for a star who has an upcoming album. But they did not and all we can do is really follow her twitter to see what is going on. At least they could have pulled her Twitter and YouTube feeds onto the website. That would have at least given some content, even if it is just a feed or 2. Some is better than none as they say.
